One of the three small towns along the Danube River: 📍 Hungary · Esztergom From the 10th to the 13th century, Esztergom served as the capital of Hungary and was also the birthplace of Hungarian religion. 🚌 Located about 50 kilometers from Budapest, it takes approximately 1 hour by car. I drove there myself, but you can also take a bus or train. 🇭🇺 Half-day travel itinerary: The town's attractions are concentrated, so you can explore on foot. 1️⃣ Esztergom Basilica: The largest and most prestigious church in Hungary, situated on Castle Hill. Its striking dome is visible from almost anywhere in the town. 2️⃣ Esztergom Castle: The castle's complex structure offers a sense of adventure, with artifacts and real-life scenes. From the top, you can overlook the town and the Danube River, and even see Slovakia across the river. It's a great spot for photography—photos P1-3 were taken at the castle. 3️⃣ Maria Valeria Bridge: A bridge spanning the Danube River that connects Hungary and Slovakia. The middle of the bridge marks the border between the two countries. 4️⃣ Town Houses: The town is filled with colorful houses, perfect for a casual city walk.
