Explore Enshi Grand Canyon and Encounter the Most Beautiful Scars on Earth

Enshi Grand Canyon is located in Tunbao Township and Banqiao Town, Enshi City, Hubei Province, China. It is a section of the Qingjiang Grand Canyon, 49 km away from Enshi City. It is a national geological park and a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction. The following is a detailed introduction: Overview • Size and Area: The canyon is 108 km long, with a total area of more than 300 square kilometers and an average cutting depth of 1,500 km. • Natural Landscape: It has five major geological wonders: Qingjiang Baiyun, cliff peaks, natural bridge cave groups, underground river waterfalls, sinkholes and ground fissures. It is the only composite karst landform in the world where "ground fissures - sinkholes - rock pillar groups" coexist. It is praised by geologists as "World Geological Wonder, Oriental Colorado". • History and Culture: It is one of the birthplaces of ancient Ba culture, and it was also the place where Enshi Tusi gathered troops in the past dynasties. Main Attractions • Yunlong Ground Fissure Scenic Area: Located on the west side of the scenic area's visitor center, it covers an area of about 11.3 square kilometers and is between 600-800 meters above sea level. The main types of landform landscapes include ground fissures, waterfalls, deep pools, karst caves, underground rivers, and zoomorphic rocks. • Qixingzhai Scenic Area: Located in the western part of Yunlong Ground Fissure Scenic Area, it consists of attractions such as the Dalaomen peaks, Yizhuxiang, and the cliff corridor. Among them, "Yizhuxiang" is the iconic landscape of Enshi Grand Canyon, with a height of 150m, a bottom diameter of 6m, and a minimum diameter of only 4m, which is very rare in similar karst landforms.
