In the misty rain of Mount Emei, the Golden Buddha emerges through the clouds and fog

Carrying the expectations of our family, we followed the plan we had made earlier. Here we come, Mount Emei!!! We set off from Ya'an at 7 am on May 2nd, traveling 97 kilometers via the Chengdu-Chongqing ring expressway, and arrived at the Baoguo Temple parking lot in an hour and a half. Despite the rain, our spirits were high . The shoe covers and raincoats we bought in advance came in handy. 1. Baoguo Temple (Baoguo Temple is one of the eight major temples of Mount Emei and marks the starting point of the famous mountain. Originally named 'Huizong Hall', in the forty-second year of Emperor Kangxi's reign (1703), Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty renamed it to 'Baoguo Temple' and bestowed a plaque. Nestled against Phoenix Terrace and adjacent to Fuhu Mountain, the temple is surrounded by ancient pines and cypresses, with its halls and pavilions set in a rustic and elegant environment, making it a sacred destination for visitors to Mount Emei.) Through the guide signs, the children looked carefully and asked questions from time to time. Sometimes it's about appreciating the scenery, and other times it's about understanding the history and culture. After a brief stop, we drove to the Huangwan Tourist Center parking lot, and then the owner of Lejia Courtyard arranged for someone to drive us to the hotel (close to both Wuxiangang bus station and Qingyin Pavilion). The rain was heavy, the road slippery and winding, and we were grateful for the shop owner's arrangements 2. After lunch, with everyone full of energy, the plan was: hike from Qingyin Pavilion to One Thread Sky to the Ecological Monkey Zone to Hongchunping. It was drizzling all the way, but the 'big brother' of Mount Emei still kept the children highly motivated. Two elderly people and two children moved forward, while my wife and I fell behind . After watching the Mount Emei monkeys , we saw the signpost indicating that Hongchunping was still 4.5 km away , and we decisively chose to return. Family health is more important than challenging ourselves. We'll rest and set out again tomorrow. In the evening, we enjoyed a couple of drinks and some beef with pickled vegetables 3. We got up at 5:30 in the morning, boiled water, and checked the items needed for the trip. Woke up parents, wife, and children. A 10-minute walk from the hotel took us to Wuxiangang bus station, where we had breakfast (still need to eat well and stay warm on a rainy day ) We arrived early and didn't have to queue much. After the security check, we boarded the bus and set off for Leidongping 4. Hike from Leidongping to Jieyindian 1.5 km. No need to bring food to avoid the extra weight, as there are many delicacies along the way, such as smoked ribs, egg cakes, candied haws, camellia cakes, milk tea, coffee 5. Queue for the Jinding cable car 🚡. We chose the circulating cable car, which holds 6 people per car (didn't experience the round-trip cable car for more people, a bit of a pity ) Due to the heavy fog, we missed the feeling of breaking through the clouds and seeing the sun suddenly appear! 6. Walk to the Golden Summit. After getting off the cable car, there's still a short walk to reach the Golden Summit. (Perhaps this is what 'fulfilling a vow' means, you have to walk the path to fulfill your wish) 7. The Golden Buddha appears. Despite the fog, the Golden Buddha appeared and disappeared, which was quite spectacular. There was no sunrise, no sea of clouds, no Buddha's light, no holy lamp. But the appearance of the Golden Buddha gave a sense of great seclusion Braving the wind and rain to reach the Golden Summit is a journey of fulfilling vows.
