November 26th, Qinghai-Gansu Grand Loop Self-Driving Trip, Day 4

Today's Route: Mogao Grottoes → Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Lake → Jiuquan Road Conditions: The entire journey from Dunhuang to Jiuquan is on the highway. The first half is almost empty, but once you get onto the Lianhuo Expressway, there are tons of cars, mostly large trucks. Drivers should be very careful. Seeing the large convoy of vehicles on the G312 National Highway next to us on the highway was quite impressive; it's like a modern-day Silk Road. Attractions: Graduate students can buy half-price tickets to the Mogao Grottoes. Starting next month, they will be selling off-season tickets, which is definitely worthwhile. Inside, you'll watch two guided films, then take a bus ride followed by a guided tour – it's quite spectacular. Unfortunately, there are no lights inside the grottoes and photography is not allowed.
