A 5-Day, 4-Night Self-Drive Tour of Western Sichuan: A Romantic Escape to the Wilderness with Family

Hey everyone, you absolutely have to experience the breathtaking beauty of Western Sichuan! This 5-day, 4-night self-drive trip was truly a soul-stirring experience. Don't worry if you're traveling with seniors and children, just follow my lead! We flew from Baiyun Airport to Shuangliu Airport and then rented a car for our self-drive adventure.🚙 📌D1: Dujiangyan → Guanxian Ancient Town I've already updated my travel guides for both of these places, so feel free to check them out~ 📌D2: Depart from hotel → Bipenggou I've also updated the guide for this, so enjoy the beauty of Bipenggou~ 📌D3: Bipenggou → Siguniang Mountain The updated guide is ready, just follow it~ 📌D4: Siguniang Mountain → Highway 318 🎈Gunong Village: Accessible directly by car, at an altitude of about 3,000 meters. Here, you'll find vast grasslands, rolling mountains, and towering snow-capped peaks in the distance. You'll see grazing cattle everywhere, and on clear days, every photo is a masterpiece. You can even walk on the frozen lake surface, it's an amazing feeling! 🎈Balangshendu: This is *the* spot for capturing the golden sunrise on the mountains. There's a parking fee to enter. Since we could also see the snow-capped mountains from our hotel, and driving a minivan up there was a bit challenging, we skipped it. However, the Tibetan temple on the highlands nearby is definitely worth a visit~ 🎈Tagong Grassland: Summer would probably be even more picturesque here, with a vast expanse of grassland. In winter, the main color is brownish. It's about 10 minutes from Balangshendu, at an altitude of about 3,300 meters. 🎈Honghaizi/Jiagacu: At an altitude of about 4,300 meters, no filters are needed here, every shot is atmospheric. There's a frozen lake surface, meadows, and snow-capped mountains. Between 5pm and 6pm, you can see the snow mountains reflected in the lake, it's absolutely stunning! There's no entrance fee, but there's a CNY 15 cleaning fee per person (negotiable for larger groups), children are exempt. Remember to bring cash, the signal is weak up there~ This trip, accompanied by the wilderness breeze all along the way, truly made me feel the power of freedom.
