Dresden, a city in eastern Germany

Dresden is the second largest city in eastern Germany after Berlin and an industrial center. Although it has a long history, World War II changed everything and most of the buildings you see today were rebuilt after the war. On February 13-14, 1945, Dresden was almost razed to the ground due to carpet bombing by Allied Air Force bombers led by the United States. The dark bricks of the Frauenkirche (7-9) were picked out one by one from the rubble after the bombing. It is said that each brick was numbered, while the light-colored bricks were new bricks used in the post-war reconstruction. #GermanyTravel #HistoricalBuildings #Church #WWIIRelics #dresden

Start your day wandering the Elbe riverside—the best way to soak up the city’s historic skyline and get those classic bridge shots. Next, visit Zwinger (Sophienstraße, 01067 Dresden) between 6:00–21:00 for Insta-worthy palace gardens and baroque treasures. Then, admire the Frauenkirche Dresden (Neumarkt, 01067 Dresden, open 10:00–11:30 & 13:00–17:30) with its soaring stone dome—snap your wide-angle shot from Neumarkt square for max wow! Head across to the “Golden Rider” statue (Neustädter Markt 14, 01097 Dresden, open all day). Early morning light or just after sunset make for the most magical photos of this gleaming landmark. A true Dresden highlight: Molkerei Pfund (Bautzner Straße 79, 01099 Dresden, open 10:00–18:00 Mon–Sat). Don’t miss trying fresh milk and artisanal cheeses—plus, original skincare and soap make perfect souvenirs! Refuel with authentic German sausage from a street vendor for a tasty local tradition.
