Wat Phra That Doi Saket, Chiang Mai Province 🪷 Phra That Doi Saket, which enshrines the hair relics of the Lord Buddha, is an important religious site of the temple that is over 1,000 years old. It was built from reinforced concrete 30 meters high, covering the original body. The top is decorated with golden colors. 🪷 According to legend, during the time of the Lord Buddha, after the Lord Buddha attained enlightenment, he appeared in his divine form on a mountain. Nearby, there was a pond where two Naga serpents lived. They had the opportunity to see the Lord Buddha perform a miraculous miracle. They were impressed and transformed into humans to offer lotus flowers to the Lord Buddha as a Buddhist offering. The Lord then gave the hair relics to the pair of Nagas before the two Nagas built a stone to enshrine the hair relics. Hundreds of years later, villagers who were devoted built a pagoda instead of the original pile of stones. 🪷This footprint is a pair of footprints with a length of 31 cm. It is the most realistic footprint when checked on a scale. It is found to be close in size to the height of the Lord Buddha.
