Dhangethi Maldives เกาะชืีอไม่ดังดีฟิลดีมาก

🏝️ Dhangethi is a small, locally inhabited island, yet not very popular with tourists. You may have been on a liveaboard trip and stopped here for a break, but this time, we were diving and exploring the island in earnest. We did some diving in the last post, so this post will take you through the journey and the scenic spots around the island. We chose to travel to Dhangethi by speedboat. There are only two departures from Male Airport, at 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. However, our flight arrived at 12:30 PM. We had a quick bite to eat and visited the beaches in Hulhumale first. When it was time for the boat, we waited at the airport. The boat organizer came to pick us up and board the boat. The journey took about two hours, and we arrived on the island in the evening. The owner of the guesthouse and dive shop welcomed us at the pier. They were very friendly and welcoming. Our accommodation was right on the beach, near Bikini Beach. It's a small guesthouse or hotel, offering friendly, local hospitality. The beds were air-conditioned, and there were even fans for those who don't like the cold. The bathroom had hot water. The accommodation was excellent. What I really liked was the free drinks in the fridge: beer, non-alcoholic, and soft drinks were readily available. Our accommodation included all meals, though the variety wasn't great. The taste wasn't bad at all. And most importantly, we included a special dinner on the beach under the stars and lunch at the sandbank. The view was amazing, but I don't think Thais like us like the heat, haha. Then we took a boat ride to watch dolphins at sunset. It was so relaxing, even if we didn't see any dolphins, the atmosphere was still amazing. ☺️ Besides the incredibly beautiful beach, on the west side there are chic beachside cafes and beautiful sunsets every day. It was a great place to chill. They even have stingrays for you to sit and admire them up close. However, the staff always warn you not to disturb them too much. On this dive, we had three different types of boats. The small group was incredibly private, and the dive leaders and crew were excellent. They didn't seem to be too concerned about tips, as they didn't stand around waiting, unlike what you'd usually find on more touristy islands. At night, if you enjoy stargazing, I'd say it was amazing. We didn't take any photos. There are a lot of mosquitoes, lol. If you're going, bring some mosquito repellent or something. The center of the island is lined with souvenir shops, but there aren't many. It's a laid-back, chill vibe, just enough for you to grab some souvenirs to take home. Overall, if you like peace and quiet, beautiful nature, and not too many tourists, this is the perfect place. However, if you like loud parties, this might not be the place for you.
