Dayu "Little Forbidden City"

Dayu, formerly known as Dayu, belongs to the Southern Peace Prefecture. The Southern Peace Prefecture was first built in the second year of the Northern Song Dynasty, and was destroyed by fire during the Republic of China, lasting nearly a thousand years. The current Southern Peace Prefecture is a reconstruction. The first gate is the defensive gate for officials to enter and exit, and for the gatekeepers to report the time. The pavilions on both sides of the first gate are the Shiming Pavilion and the Jingshan Pavilion. The "Dengwen Drum" on the east side of the first gate is the drum for grievances. Here, you can experience the scene of the prefect handling cases through human-machine interaction and scene restoration. The left and right sides of the courtyard are the six rooms, corresponding to the six departments. The Zhaomo Office is equivalent to today's archives. The Gentleman Hall is one of the main halls of the prefecture, where the prefect discusses political affairs, handles official business, and receives senior officials and distinguished guests. The warehouse stores sacrificial and travel supplies, as well as the money and grain of the prefecture. The Pushing Officer's Office is where the pushing officer (equivalent to the president of the intermediate people's court) lives. The Prefect's Office, also known as the "Inner Prefecture," is where the prefect reads, handles official documents, receives senior officials, and discusses political affairs. The Tongzhi Office and Tongpan Office are where the Tongzhi and Tongpan handle official business, assisting the prefect in managing military and patrol affairs. The Experience Department is the office of the prefecture, responsible for handling documents and other affairs, similar to today's municipal office.
