“Heroic Governance, Cradle of Revolution”

The Nanshantou Revolutionary Memorial Hall is located in Dadi Huwan, Nanshan Village, Yinzhu Town, Daye City. The Nanshantou Revolutionary Site is situated in the southern part of Daye City, adjacent to Sanxikou Town in Yangxin County. It is more than 90 kilometers away from Wuhan City and 30 kilometers from Huangshi City. Nanshantou is one of the earliest revolutionary bases led by our Party. In the autumn of 1928, the CPC Daye County Committee was established at the Jin Gong Temple in Nanshan. The Red Eighth Army, led by Li Can and He Changgong, fought bravely here; the Red Fifth Army, commanded by Peng Dehuai and Teng Daiyuan, also fought fiercely here. After liberation, more than a hundred generals and marshals, including Nie Rongzhen and Wang Ping, who had fought here, wrote inscriptions for Nanshan. The geographical location of the Nanshantou Revolutionary Base in Daye is very strategic, surrounded by mountains on all sides, making it easy to defend and difficult to attack. It provided important strategic support for the revolutionary struggle in the Daye area and even in southeastern Hubei. During the Second Civil Revolutionary War, this place was an important part of the revolutionary base in the Daye area and also an important part of the revolutionary base in southeastern Hubei.
