Datong Three-Dragon Screen Wall

Datong is known as the hometown of dragon screen walls, with one-dragon, three-dragon, five-dragon, seven-dragon, and nine-dragon screen walls. This time, I visited the five-dragon brick screen wall, five-dragon glazed screen wall, and nine-dragon glazed screen wall in Datong Ancient City. I didn't see the one-dragon and seven-dragon screen walls, which are said to be in the ancient city. The three-dragon glazed screen wall is not in Datong Ancient City, but on another fork in the road from Datong City to Yungang Grottoes. The temple there is called Guanyin Hall, which is very small. The three-dragon screen wall has three dragons on both sides, all glazed, unlike the nine-dragon screen wall, which has nine dragons on one side. Behind the dragon screen wall is the gate of Guanyin Hall, which is uniquely designed. The statues in the Guanyin Hall are exquisite. Only the Guanyin Hall is open, while the other three or five rooms are closed. However, the three-dragon screen wall is very exquisite, with different postures and lifelike. This time, I went to see the three-dragon screen wall on the way. I first went to Yungang Grottoes, and after visiting the grottoes, I went to Guanyin Hall to see the three-dragon screen wall on the way back to Datong. Although the place is small, it is worth seeing.
