Let's go to Datong to see the Nine-Dragon Wall.

The Nine-Dragon Wall in Datong is located on the south side of Neidong Street in Datong City, Shanxi Province. It is a single-sided, multicolored glazed screen wall in front of the residence of Zhu Gui, the 13th son of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of the Ming Dynasty. The Nine-Dragon Wall in Datong faces north and is 45.5 meters long, 8 meters high, and 2.02 meters thick. The wall is composed of three parts: the base, the body, and the top. It is made of glazed tiles in yellow, green, blue, purple, black, and white. The front part is inlaid with multicolored glazed tiles, with as many as 426 glazed tiles. The top of the wall has a single eave and five ridges. The main ridge is decorated with high-relief multi-layered petals, flowers, and dragons. The ridge beasts are complete, and the two sides are carved with dragon heads. The nine giant dragons on the wall are all made in high relief, with blue-green seawater below and blue and yellow clouds above. The nine dragons are separated and connected by clouds, waves, and cliffs. There are 62 sets of glazed brackets on the wall, supporting the glazed tile roof. The base is made of 15 layers of glazed bricks and is 2.09 meters high. The waist of the base has two layers of glazed mythical beasts. The upper layer is made of glazed brick carvings with a pattern of two dragons playing with a pearl, with a total of 41 sets. The lower layer is composed of various glazed animal components, including elephants, deer, lions, tigers, jade rabbits, dogs, sheep, and flying horses. Each animal is made in high relief and has a background. The middle is separated by vertical stones, and each is an independent picture. In front of the wall is a shadow pool, 34 meters long and 0.8 meters deep, surrounded by stone railings, with nine giant dragons reflected in the pool.
