#Winter travel destinations For those who are looking for a cheap and simple winter travel destination, we recommend Darjeeling, India. We traveled from November 15-26, 2024, for 11 days and 10 nights. The total travel expenses were no more than 20,000 baht per person. Round-trip airfare from Bangkok airports To Kolkata Airport, 8,500 baht Taxi fare from airport to hotel 300 baht Hotel for 4 nights while waiting for the bus to Darjeeling 2,750 baht (divided by 2) Food during 4 nights in Kolkata Total 1,200 baht Take a semi-sleeper bus, air-conditioned from Kolkata to Chirikuli (12 hours), 1,200 baht (round trip) Take a jeep from Chirikuli to Darjeeling (3 hours) 500 baht (round trip) Accommodation in Darjeeling for 3 nights (high season) 2,500 baht (divided by 2) Food during 3 nights in Darjeeling Total 1,000 baht Come back to stay in Kolkata for another night while waiting for the flight back to Thailand, hotel + food, total 650 baht Taxi fare to the airport 150 Baht Total expenses for the trip were 18,750 baht per person which was very worthwhile for 10 nights. Personally, I could eat Indian food, so I saved a lot on food expenses. For those who are not good at Indian food, there are Thai restaurants available, but the prices may be a bit high. The weather is cold all 12 months. The daytime temperature is 12-16 degrees Celsius and at night it is 11-6 degrees Celsius. For those who want to see snow, I recommend going during January-February. The temperature will be below zero and there will be snow. Please bring warm clothes.
