Daocheng Yading Long Line Closure Notice

The Daocheng Yading Scenic Area previously had two hiking routes. The Vajra Line, also known as the "Long Line", from Gongga Lake to the Milk Sea and Five Color Sea area, will be closed for management and temporarily closed from July 12, 2024. It is currently unknown when it will reopen. The original long line, from Luorong Pasture to the Five Color Sea and Milk Sea, is 5 km one way, with an altitude from 4,170 m to 4,600 m. After the closure, visitors can walk from Luorong Pasture along the plank road to Gongga Lake, which is basically flat and does not require climbing. Although you can't see the two highest alpine lakes, you can see the reflection of Yangmaiyong Mountain in Gongga Lake. Currently in the Daocheng Yading Scenic Area, the short line tour is recommended. It is recommended to arrive in Shangri-La Town one day in advance, take a taxi to the ticket exchange scenic area sightseeing car after breakfast. Take a bus from the visitor center, slowly climb along the mountain road, and you can see the top of Xianuoduoji at the top of the mountain after 20 minutes. After 40 minutes, you will arrive at the scenic spot car terminal-Zhaguanbeng, and you can reach the Chonggu Temple service point in 10 minutes on foot. Walk along the wooden plank road for 2 km to reach Zhuomalacuo (Pearl Sea), and the Xianuoduoji of the three sacred mountains of Aden is in front of you. Then return to Chonggu Meadow and admire the distant Xianuoduoji Mountain. Chonggu Temple is a long-established temple. Every morning and afternoon, the lamas in the temple have to burn incense and chant sutras, and the chanting and chanting sounds echo in the quiet valley. Standing in front of Chonggu Temple, the sky above your head is almost exaggeratedly blue, the grass under your feet is green and yellow, the snow-capped mountains that have not melted for thousands of years are in the distance, and the sleeping valley for thousands of years is behind you. The scenery is magnificent and it is an excellent place for photography. As a passenger, I can understand everyone's urgency to come from afar to worship the sacred mountain. Especially for teams who want to take the Daocheng Yading Small Mountain Road, they cannot cross the 5,000-meter-high Potaikou from the Milk Sea and Five Color Sea, and then come out from the Pearl Sea and Chonggu Temple to complete the inner ring small loop. The scenic area has temporarily closed some areas for environmental protection reasons, and everyone should still respect it.
