Danjiangkou Dam Scenic Area is located in the urban area of Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a landmark site of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's central route. This area boasts exceptional natural scenery, nestled among surrounding mountains. The Danjiangkou Reservoir is renowned for its pristine water quality and picturesque views, earning it the nickname "Asia's Heavenly Lake." After the dam's height was increased, the crest elevation rose from 162 meters to 176.6 meters, the normal water storage level increased from 157 meters to 170 meters, and the reservoir capacity expanded from 17.45 billion cubic meters to 29.05 billion cubic meters. Annually, it can transfer an average of 9.5 billion cubic meters of water to northern regions.
