Damyang County, South Korea

Damyang County is located in the north of South Jeolla Province, northeast of Gwangju Metropolitan City, and borders North Jeolla Province to the north. Damyang County has many tourist attractions worth visiting. Here are some of the main attractions: History and Culture - Soswaewon Garden: One of Korea's three major traditional gardens, it is a representative private villa garden of the mid-Joseon Dynasty. Located on the west side of a valley and built along the stream, the garden artfully blends natural and artificial landscapes, showcasing the beauty of the mountains and rivers. The architectural landscape, rock formations, and waterscape are well-arranged, and a large number of plants such as bamboo, orchids, and camellias are planted.  - Korean Gasa Literature Museum: This museum houses a large collection of rare literary works related to Damyang County. It is an important place to understand the development of Korean Gasa literature and local history and culture. The museum displays original works, manuscripts, and related historical materials and cultural relics of many writers and poets since the mid-Joseon Dynasty.  Natural Scenery - Bamboo Theme Park: With a large area of lush bamboo forest, visitors can stroll through it and enjoy the fragrance of bamboo and the tranquility of nature. The park has bamboo forest bathing areas, bamboo craft experience areas, etc., where you can also learn about the growth process of bamboo and the production process of bamboo products.  - Yogok Campground: Centered on Yongji Mountain, Yogok is a 4-kilometer area with beautiful scenery such as canyons, waterfalls, and strange rocks. It is the origin of the Yeongsan River and was designated as a tourist destination in 1986. There is a campground that can accommodate 900 campers at the same time, equipped with complete viewing and convenient facilities. - Chuwolsan Mountain: With an altitude of 731 meters, it is one of Damyang County's landmark natural landscapes.
