Dalian's hidden photo spot, at the end of Rainbow Road is the sea

​​📍Boxiawan Park A few days ago, I arranged afternoon tea with my sisters. The coffee shop was located by the seaside at Boxiawan. We all took taxis, but our drop-off points were different. She was dropped off directly at the north gate, just a few steps from the destination; my taxi stopped at the south gate, about 2 km away from the sea. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as I got to see some different scenery.​ If you come to Boxiawan to see the iconic lighthouse, it’s recommended to navigate directly to Baihang Mountain Villa instead of Boxiawan Park. When you get close, confirm if you have reached the seaside to avoid coming to the wrong place like I did. If you drive yourself, there is a parking lot by the sea with a fee of 10 yuan per visit.​ At the south gate of Boxiawan Park, there is a sightseeing shuttle costing 5 yuan per person that can take you directly to the lighthouse. But when I arrived, the shuttle had already left, and I wasn’t sure when it would return. So I didn’t wait and decided to walk there.​ The day I went was bright and sunny, and the sea was so blue it made you fall in love instantly. Even though I grew up by the sea, I can’t resist the ocean on a day like this.​ Walking along this rainbow road that stretches as far as the eye can see, halfway through on the left side there is a viewing area planted with many green plants and some blooming flowers.​​ You can enjoy a distant view of the sea here and take a break.​ Honestly, this road doesn’t look far but walking it is quite tiring, especially for someone like me who doesn’t exercise much. But the whole way is blessed with amazing scenery and very few people, making it feel like I had the entire beautiful view all to myself.​ Walking a bit further, I finally reached the lighthouse, taking about 30 minutes in total.​ The red and white lighthouse is the most iconic building in Boxiawan Park and the place where most tourists gather. It’s very pleasant to take photos, enjoy the sea view, and stroll around here.
