Stayed five nights at the world's most beautiful InterContinental, is it really as good as the legend says?

The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has always been touted as the flagship of the InterContinental brand in Asia, and its presence is prominent in many promotional advertisements, which shows the hotel's status within the InterContinental brand. The hotel is built on the side of a mountain, with the lobby situated at the highest point of the resort. The guest room areas are named Heaven, Sky, Earth, and Sea, respectively, and a boat-shaped cable car runs vertically through these areas. This time, I stayed in a suite on the Heaven level, and the room size was quite ordinary. Compared to others, the bathroom is quite large, and Bill Bensley's personal touch is not to have a shower partition, which always makes one worry about water splashing out and wetting the bath mat. The monkeys here are mostly not afraid of people, so the hotel staff will repeatedly remind you to lock the balcony door when leaving the room, as the monkeys can still open it if it's just closed. The hotel offers many activities, with the Nature Tour being the most recommended, where you follow a guide to look for monkeys outside the hotel. There are also many water sports available by the sea, with the most distinctive being the traditional Vietnamese coracle boats. The executive lounge afternoon tea is presented in set form, with varieties changing every other day. Happy Hour and breakfast are served in a semi-buffet style, with slight variations in the types of dishes each day. The overall selection is not extensive, but it's all quite exquisite. The hot dish part consists of a three-course set and a small bowl of soup, with portions that are almost bite-sized and no option for seconds. I think breakfast is the best meal of the day, much more refined than the lobby's, and the beverage section even has whole coconuts and the very popular kombucha. Another highlight of the executive privileges at the InterContinental Danang is the dedicated relaxation room at Danang Airport, which has a rather rustic environment and offers some simple snacks and drinks. The hotel has a shuttle bus to Hoi An both in the morning and afternoon, with the morning bus also stopping in Danang city center.
