The colonial city forgotten by time

#2024TravelReviewColonia Del Sacramento Colony is a city in the southwest corner of Uruguay, Colonia Del Sacramento, and an old town from the Spanish colonial era. It is only separated from Buenos Aires, Argentina by a river. It is famous for preserving a large number of Spanish and Portuguese colonial buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries and is one of the world's cultural heritage sites. Some people say that Colonia Del Sacramento is the only famous tourist attraction in Uruguay, and a visit to Colonia means you have completed your trip to Uruguay. The old town has a large hinterland and there are some specialty restaurants and shops nearby. A two-day tour is recommended. You can stroll along the sunny beach and walk on the wide cobblestone road. There are low houses and tall, shady trees on both sides of the road. It is sparsely populated and quiet, so you can spend half a day relaxing, which is really pleasant! Although the city wall is quaint, it has become dilapidated due to the passage of time. The cannonballs at the foot of the wall are still standing. Although it has lost its defensive function, it is a favorite photo-taking location for tourists. The yacht marina in the town makes people feel sad about the gap between the rich and the poor. Some people are speeding on yachts on the sea while others are sleeping on the streets. When you are tired of walking in the old town, you can take a short break in a roadside cafe, and when you have rested enough, you can enjoy the sea view and visit the market...
