Exploring the World of Gothic Fantasy Architecture

A Journey Through Spain's Central Plateau ~ Ciudad Real (Region) This is a must-visit attraction when passing through Ciudad Real—a transitional Gothic-style building whose origins can be traced back to a Romanesque temple. It has undergone multiple restorations, with the most recent one shaping its current appearance. The first renovation took place during the reign of Alfonso X "The Wise." The southern gate and the main altar painting are in Renaissance style. The Perdón Gate features Gothic design with Romanesque elements and is believed to have been the church's entrance during Alfonso X's era. Notable items in the sacristy include several paintings, wooden panels by Becerril, and an exquisite Baroque-style cabinet. The new tower was completed in the 19th century, consisting of four stone-built sections.
