The Bernina train

The Bernina train route is one of the most scenic rail journeys in the world. Running between Chur in Switzerland, via St. Moritz, to Tirano in Italy, it crosses the Swiss Alps without the need for cogwheels. Highlights include spectacular viaducts, the Bernina Pass (at over 2,200 meters), and the Morteratsch Glacier (see this video). Along the way, travelers pass through picturesque villages, turquoise lakes, and stunning alpine landscapes. The route is a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its engineering and breathtaking views.
