It's essential to visit Qiandao Lake in good weather; rainy days are not suitable for sightseeing

Qiandao Lake in Chun'an County, Zhejiang, is a very famous scenic spot. The pictures seen online are all beautiful, with blue water and sky, and islands dotting the lake surface. However, such scenery can only be seen on sunny days. If you visit on cloudy or rainy days, the water surface will appear pale, and the islands will look earthy, lacking stunning scenery. Therefore, choosing the right weather is very important. It is recommended to use a drone for photographing the scenery of Qiandao Lake. The highest observation deck's perspective is still too flat, making it difficult to capture the full view of the lake, only a group of islands nearby. After the construction of the Xin'anjiang Reservoir, the dam intercepted the upper reaches of the Xin'an River, forming a huge lake. The mountains were submerged into the lake, becoming islands of various sizes, hence the name "Qiandao Lake" (Thousand Island Lake). Qiandao Lake is divided into six tour areas: Southeast Lake Area, Central Lake Area, Northwest Lake Area, Southwest Lake Area, Northeast Lake Area, and Stone Forest Scenic Area. Usually, the central area of Qiandao Lake in Chun'an is visited, with attractions such as Meifeng Peak, Longshan Island, Moonlight Island (Wulong Island), and Fishing Island.
