Boxing Day Hike up Rivington Pike

A Boxing Day tradition in Bolton is to climb Rivington Pike, the highest point in the area. You will find many other hikers making the climb. The tower at the peak was a beacon, used as an early warning system in case of an invasion by the Scots. This was a particularly foggy day, but the mists descended into the vales giving us a unique view from above the clouds. #bolton #rivingtonpike
