Qingyan Temple is an unknown small temple. Nowadays, the temple is very popular, but it has not been renovated. There is no temple gate and no mountain gate hall. It is indeed extremely simple. The shape of the golden Buddha here feels like a small Leshan Giant Buddha. The road here is very narrow, only enough for one person to pass through, and above it is the primitive pocket-sized temple. There are still many inscriptions on the rock wall, which are still clearly visible. The Big Buddha faces the Yangtze River, and on the other side is the Jiulong Ferry. The most primitive building was only a stone statue carved on the cliff. The statue was holding an axe and sitting on a boat, glaring at the Yangtze River. Below it was a 1-meter-square altar, suspended in the air, more than ten meters from the ground. The entire temple could only accommodate one person standing. This scale is unique in the country. It is a genuine pocket-sized temple. Although Qingyan Temple is small, it has a long history. It was built in the 41st year of Emperor Qianlong's reign. According to legend, the Lijiatuo River became narrower and the river was turbulent, forming a large backwater. Many ships were lost here. In order to pray for safety, the people carved a statue on the rocks by the river to protect the people. As of now, the water flow below is indeed turbulent. It is still the dry season, and it will be really scary here when the water level rises. I feel that this place is similar to the Longfeng Temple in Jiulongpo and the Water Guanyin in Ciqikou.
