| Batang Section of the Yuhe Ancient Road. ◾️The Yuhe Ancient Road, starting from Fotuguan in Chongqing and ending at Nanjin Ferry in Hechuan, was an official road and post road connecting Chongqing and Hechuan during the Ming and Qing dynasties and even the early Republic of China. There were ten pond stations along the ancient road, abbreviated as "Yuhe Ten Ponds." ◾️There were 10 pond stations along the Yuhe Ancient Road. In ancient times when information was blocked, their main responsibilities were to maintain law and order, strictly inspect smuggled goods, set up checkpoints, transmit military information, etc., to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the route. ◾️The Batang Section in Bishan is a part of the Yuhe Ancient Road, named after its eighth sequence, and has been used until now.
