Is Xiaohao Li Old Street still the same as Xiaohao Old Street?

Xiaohao Li Old Street is located in Xiaohao, Nan'an District, Chongqing. From the current construction, it seems more like an extension of Longmenhao Old Street. Longmenhao Old Street was basically completed in 2018, but it had been very unpopular before, being a scenic spot with a low presence. This is very similar to the early days of Hongyadong, but later Hongyadong became popular mainly due to its Spirited Away-like scenery and the spread through social media, while the rising popularity of Longmenhao Old Street is mainly due to the successive opening of attractions such as Chongqing Port Opening Site Park and Xiaohao Li Old Street, which have only become popular in the last year or two. In terms of scale, Chongqing Port Opening Site Park and Xiaohao Li Old Street are both larger than Longmenhao Old Street. These three scenic areas seem to complement each other, but in fact, Longmenhao Old Street and Xiaohao Li Old Street are very similar in style, like an expansion of Longmenhao Old Street, while Chongqing Port Opening Site Park has a style that leans more towards modern and contemporary, emphasizing port opening culture and Western culture. Xiaohao Li Old Street has multiple entrances and exits, but the general way to enter is from Longmenhao Old Street, firstly because it is close to the cluster of scenic spots, secondly because it is close to the rail station, and thirdly because it is close to the parking lot. Entering Xiaohao Li Old Street from Longmenhao Old Street, you first pass through a long alley and then enter the core area of Xiaohao Li Old Street, which is built around a stream and resembles stilted buildings. If you look at it separately, Xiaohao Li Old Street has its own style. There are currently many photos taken from the Xiaohao Li Old Street viewing platform of the night view of Xiaohao Li Old Street online, which are really nice. This has a positive effect on the promotion of Xiaohao Li Old Street. However, I think Xiaohao Li Old Street has a major flaw, which is that there are too many dead ends in the roads. In Xiaohao Li Old Street, it is common to take the wrong path or end up in a dead end, but I personally think this affects the experience of the attraction. In fact, Xiaohao Li Old Street has always emphasized the feeling of climbing slopes and stepping over thresholds in a mountain city. The designer might have wanted to create a unique road system, but I think it is a failure. Even in traditional Chongqing neighborhoods, or scenic areas like Mountain City Alley, it is not easy to take the wrong path or end up in a dead end. The undulating roads are indeed very reminiscent of old Chongqing, but since they are roads, they should be accessible from all directions, not designed with dead ends, which only make visitors constantly think about which road to take to avoid getting lost, rather than enjoying the attraction with ease. Moreover, some shops in Xiaohao Li Old Street seem very close, but you have to take a detour to get there because there is a dead end in between. Is Xiaohao Li Old Street still the same as Xiaohao Old Street? I think it's obviously not. First, the name has already been differentiated, why not just continue with the original name? Second, there is a difference in style. Xiaohao Old Street gave me a feeling of 'surprise', filled with unexpected street scenes, and it's surprising that such a place, almost devoid of commercial flavor and resembling an ancient town, is so close to the city center, giving a sense of seclusion in the city. Xiaohao Li Old Street, on the other hand, gives me a feeling of 'imitation', but this imitation is derogatory. It not only loses the surprise of Xiaohao Old Street but also, in order to create the feeling of the undulating landscape of a mountain city, there are many questionable treatments in the road design. However, if you look at Xiaohao Li Old Street alone, it is still generally acceptable. But if you have seen the old Xiaohao Old Street, you would actually have high expectations for the 'transformed Xiaohao Old Street', but after the transformation, the previous flavor is gone, which is slightly disappointing. Additionally, I suggest improving the road system. More connecting passages should be added between roads, which would benefit both the experience of visitors and the long-term stable operation of the merchants inside. If you have to take a detour to reach a shop right in front of you, unless the shop is very competitive, it will only lead to insufficient customer flow, which in turn will have a negative impact on the entire scenic area. Learn from Hongyadong, Factory Two, Mountain City Alley, and Eighteen Steps, whose road systems are all accessible and do not easily lead to the trouble of possibly entering a dead end.
