📸 The ancient village of Shimen Gao, which dates back over 1600 years, is located in Tangxi Town, Guichi District, Chizhou City, Anhui Province. Situated at the southern foot of Mount Jiuhua, it lies at the junction of Guichi, Qingyang, Shitai, and Mount Jiuhua, and was an important ancient path from Anqing to the old Huizhou. It is said that the poet Li Bai had 'visited Mount Jiuhua three times and toured Qiupu five times' ('Qiupu' refers to Guichi District of Chizhou City), leaving behind more than 40 poems in Chizhou City, two of which are directly related to Shimen Gao. Shimen Gao is the village with the most concentrated preservation of ancient residences and the most intact preservation of ancient villages in Chizhou City. In 2018, Shimen Gao Village was recognized as the seventh batch of China's Historic and Cultural Villages.
