Anhui and Jiangxi trip

Exploring Anhui and Jiangxi in late November was like stepping into a Chinese painting. My journey began at Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The crisp autumn air, twisted ancient pines, and sea of clouds made the hike to the summit unforgettable. Watching the sunrise over the granite peaks was truly magical. Next, I visited Hongcun Ancient Village, which felt frozen in time. Its whitewashed walls, black-tiled roofs, and still ponds reflected like an ink painting. Wandering through narrow alleys and admiring well-preserved Anhui-style architecture gave me a real sense of traditional village life. I continued to Wangxian Valley in Jiangxi — a fairy-tale-like town built into the cliffs. The stilted houses and reconstructed ancient streets looked dramatic against the rugged mountains. It’s a relatively new scenic area, but it captures the charm of old China beautifully. Another highlight was climbing Mount Jiuhua, one of China’s four sacred Buddhist mountains. Temples dotted the slopes, and the nine peaks looked like a lotus flower. The peaceful chanting of monks added a spiritual touch. Finally, I walked along Tunxi Old Street (Đồn Khê), a perfectly preserved trading street from the Song Dynasty. Its antique shops, teahouses, and stone-paved road were the perfect ending to the trip.
