It’s a bit embarrassing to travel to Zhangjiakou in winter without snow. Fortunately, we found a very high-end B&B: Akagi Yushe. How high is it? It means that you feel that this kind of taste should not appear in this place... The tour house is located in Xizhazi Village, Chicheng County. There are no scenic spots within a radius of ten kilometers, and there are no other places worth staying for tourists. There are only barren fields in winter and slopes covered with dead grass. There is actually a simple airport next to the tour house, which contains a flight school and some other outdoor clubs. The airport terminal (let's call it that) is quite magnificent, and it is estimated that it is larger than the airports in most small cities in the country. There are seven separate houses in the tourist area. No one is next to another and no one looks the same as the other. They are all proudly distributed on a large and undulating loess plateau. It takes more than 200 meters to walk from one building to another, and there are often deep ditches in the middle, so it is not easy to pass through one door. The interior of the lodge is nothing special, but in such a remote wilderness, it is not easy to find heating, a bathroom, wifi, and comfortable bedding. The highlight of the rooms in the Youshe is the large viewing glass, and some rooms even have skylights for stargazing. Sitting in front of the tea table, covering my hands with coffee, looking at the desolate and dull wasteland, with occasional cows and sheep grazing under the window, I feel that the lonely winter in the north also has an inexplicable power. The food at Youshe is not simple. It is said that the chef was hired from a Michelin restaurant. It mainly serves Western cuisine. Although the price is shocking, the quality is very solid. It is worth it to enjoy meals of the standard of five-star hotels in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in a yurt restaurant with the howling north wind outside! The Western breakfast is still great, probably the work of the Michelin chef, and it is included in the room rate, so you don’t have to look at the menu while breathing air conditioning in the middle of winter. The guesthouse does not provide service after 10 o'clock at night, as the service staff all go home after get off work, so it is best to make any requests as early as possible. Don't be so excited that you just take photos and barbecue, then find out that the water pipes are frozen when you go to bed - it is normal for all kinds of unpredictable things to happen in this kind of wilderness B&B.
