Sawanbondin Tea House & Experience

Sawanbondin Tea House & Experience is a renowned organic tea house in Chiang Rai province. It has won numerous awards, and many people might have already tasted their tea in top hotels. The white wooden house offers a serene and simple atmosphere close to nature, surrounded by greenery. They offer a variety of quality tea blends. Today, we tried the First Flush Black Tea (65 THB), which is a hot black tea. The shop informed us that it is the first tea of the year from the first harvest season from Huai Hin Lad village. It has a woody and malty aroma with a smooth and mellow taste. It is served in two cups, the first and second brews, with a distinctive fragrance that matches the notes provided. For coffee lovers, they also offer coffee drinks. They have Brazilian and Thai beans from Doi Chang to choose from. We ordered the Kittiphong (95 THB), a menu that takes a bit longer to prepare as it is brewed using the drip method with the right temperature and time. After brewing, it is shaken with Osmanthus flowers. The coffee beans are special as they are carefully selected, only picking the ripe ones, then aged in a cool, air-free environment before being slowly air-dried. This drink leaves a floral and fruity aroma lingering in the mouth and throat after sipping. We also tried the Crepe Cake (120 THB), made with two types of rice flour: riceberry and brown rice. It is served with sliced bananas and topped with butterfly pea and mulberry jam. We were very impressed with the taste of the tea and the atmosphere of the shop.
