Wat Chedi Luang

When talking about the old city of Chiang Mai, or the 'Old City,' if you look at the landmarks surrounding the inner part of Chiang Mai and draw lines connecting them, you will find Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang among them. Originally, Wat Chedi Luang, also known by some as 'the Navel Temple of the City,' is home to the Inthakhin Pillar, which is considered the city pillar of Chiang Mai. Within the temple grounds, there is a rubber tree that is over 200 years old, standing as a symbol of the temple's long history. At the back of the temple, you will find the reclining Buddha hall and the ancient Chedi Luang, which once housed the Emerald Buddha.
