Wat Buak Khang, originally named Wat Buak Khang. Legend has it that during the reign of King Ku Na, he built this temple at the place where a herd of wild monkeys dug a pond, so it was named Wat Buak Khang. 🌿 Later in 2356, after King Kawila regained the independence of Chiang Mai from Burma, he led an army to round up people from Yong and brought Prince Suriyawongsa (Mom Kalik), the 34th ruler of Yong, to settle in Chiang Mai at Ban Buak Khang. 🙏 After that, King Kawila invited Khru Ba Chao Yanasiri from Wat Ban Sam Luang, Yong, to be the abbot here.
