Once in your life, conquer Doi Luang Chiang Dao.

Doi Luang Chiang Dao is the 3rd highest mountain in Thailand. It is considered the starting point of our first hiking trip. My gang of friends started by taking a bus from Bangkok and arrived in Chiang Mai in the morning. Then, we chartered a red car to Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary. Then, we took a pickup truck to the 8.5 km Doi Luang Chiang Dao-Ang Slung route. When we were ready, it was time to hit the road. (We hired porters to carry our stuff for this trip.) We walked, took photos, ate snacks, and chatted. We rested when we were tired, but I must say that we were really tired. We need to prepare our bodies more. Halfway through, we reached the Pang Wua Intersection. We took a long break because the rest of the path was very steep. It was heartbreaking because we were both tired and hot. But we persevered until we reached the tent site. It took us 6 hours. 😭😭😭 But it’s not over yet. We still have to walk another 1 km to see the peak of Doi Luang Chiang Dao before the sunset. 💪 It must have taken all my strength to walk up the steep path 100%, climb the mountain, climb the rope, until we finally reached the top of Doi Luang Chiang Dao at 2225 meters above sea level. 💕💕 Let me tell you that we finally did it. The view in front of us was beautiful and impressive. It was the best sunset viewing experience that we were very proud of on our first trek. After taking in the beauty, we had to hurry back because the steep path was dangerous and dark quickly. When we reached the tent site, there were porters that we hired to prepare food for us. Everything was delicious because we were very hungry. After eating, we cleaned ourselves as much as we could and lay down to look at the stars in the sky. The night air was very cold and now my body aches a lot. We had to wake up to watch the sunrise at another point since 4 am. After that, we slept and packed our things to travel back. 🚶🚶♀️🚶♂️This trip, we stayed for only 2 days and 1 night. I highly recommend this place for trekkers. It is a good starting point.
