✨️ Anshun Bridge: Anshun Bridge (安顺桥) This ancient bridge stands majestically over the Jin River in the heart of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. In addition to serving as a crossing between the two rivers, this arched stone bridge is also a beautiful architectural marvel that reflects the city's rich history and culture. Anshun Bridge was once part of the Silk Road, an ancient trade route connecting China to the West. History: Anshun Bridge, also known as Dongmen Bridge, is an ancient bridge over 300 years old. It was built to provide public access across the Jin River. It was first constructed around 1746 during the Qing Dynasty. In 1980, the bridge was destroyed by a flood. The current Anshun Bridge was rebuilt in 2003 to replace the original. In the 13th century, Marco Polo, one of the world's greatest travelers, wrote about several bridges in China. Anshun Bridge is one of them. The word "Anshun" in Chinese means light, tranquility, and mobility. This beautiful and unique bridge is constructed of stone and wood, featuring a roof overhead, in keeping with Chinese architecture. It is the oldest covered bridge in Chengdu. The bridge consists of three stone arches and two wooden pavilions, both located at either end of the bridge. The stone bridge is meticulously crafted and intricately decorated with sculptures depicting mythical creatures such as dragons, lions, and phoenixes, reflecting the beliefs, faith, and imagination of the people of that era. Anshun Bridge serves as a passageway through time, connecting Chengdu's past and present. Beneath the covered canopy of Anshun Bridge is a relatively large and popular restaurant in the city. The bridge is crowded in the evenings, and at night, the various shops, bars, and souvenir shops are illuminated, adding to the beautiful and charming atmosphere. The reflection of the bridge on the water makes it a perfect spot for taking photos, strolling, enjoying the view, and finding delicious food. Both sides of the river are lined with hangout spots, restaurants, and bars. Strolling along the river is a relaxing experience, watching people jogging, exercising, and doing aerobics.
