🌈 The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (Panda Base) is the best place to see pandas in Chengdu. It is both a giant panda breeding research institution and an ecological park that simulates the wild habitat of giant pandas. 🌈 The Panda Base simulates the wild environment of giant pandas, with lakes, streams, bamboo forests, lawns, and more. It is home to over 100 giant pandas. In addition to giant pandas, the base also has many red pandas, peacocks, black swans, and more. The golden monkey pavilion is currently closed. 📍 Address: 1375 Panda Avenue, Chenghua District, Chengdu 💰 Tickets: CNY 55/adult, CNY 27/student 🚗 Transportation: There is a direct bus from Chunxi Road to the Panda Base, or take Metro Line 3 to Panda Avenue Exit A, where there is a direct bus or public bus (CNY 2 per person). You can also drive yourself, as there is a parking lot at the scenic area. 💗 Notes 1️⃣ If you want to see Huahua first, enter through the south gate and go to Villa 6. Go early to avoid long lines. During holidays, the wait to see Huahua can be 1–3 hours, and you may not even see her. It depends on luck. 2️⃣ If you want to see Huahua later, enter through the west gate. There are many pandas and fewer people, so you can take your time. 3️⃣ Go early in the morning or in the afternoon. Don't go at noon, as you won't see any panda cubs. 4️⃣ Giant pandas like the cold and dislike the heat. At this time of year, the panda cubs are mostly outdoors and very active. You can see them climbing trees, playing in the water, and playing with each other. 5️⃣ Huahua's Villa 6 is closed on Mondays. The Panda Tower is closed on Tuesdays and during bad weather (reservations are required to climb the Panda Tower). 6️⃣ The Panda Base is very large. It is more than 10 kilometers from the west gate to the south gate. It takes more than three hours to walk through the entire park, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
