"Greatness Beyond Measure - A Special Exhibition on Xie Wuliang's Scholarly Life"

From September 28, 2024 to November 24, 2024, the Chengdu Museum will hold the "Greatness Beyond Measure - Xie Wuliang's Scholarly Life" exhibition in Exhibition Hall 3 on the third floor. "Greatness is vast, as high as the sky and as thick as the earth. Only it can contain, contain but not fill, so it is seen as great." Xie Wuliang was a prolific scholar in modern Chinese history, a talented poet, and a unique calligrapher. Xie Wuliang was a scholar in the study and a patriotic democrat. In the turbulent old society, he was concerned about the country and criticized the current malpractices with his pen. He was smart and diligent, never tired of learning, inherited good traditions and looked at the world. He made pioneering contributions in the fields of philosophy and literature. Xie Wuliang loved to write poetry all his life, and put his feelings of patriotism, worrying about the people, homesickness, and missing friends into his writing. His calligraphy is free and easy, casual and comfortable, full of innocence, walking between skill and clumsiness, and has always been highly regarded by famous artists at home and abroad. To commemorate the 140th anniversary of Mr. Xie Wuliang's birth, to deeply explore Bashu culture, and to vigorously promote Chinese civilization, we held this special exhibition as the first exhibition of the "Sichuan Modern Cultural Celebrities Series Exhibition" to comprehensively present this academic, poetry, and calligraphy. A generation of masters who have achieved remarkable achievements and have considerable influence in various fields.
