Chefchaouen - The Blue City in the Mountains

This beautiful city is located in the #rifmountains of #morocco. #chefchaoen or #chaouen is known as "look at the two horns" of the mountain heads above the main city. The city is painted blue due to historic heritage as being having a #jewish background. The #colbat blue signifies cooling sense and repels evil or bad omens. The city boasts few different quarters from early Jewish residents, to Spanish conquistadors and Andalusian moorish refugees. The city was built with a city wall to fight off the invading Portuguese but prevailed as one of the most historic, touristic and most Instagrammable location in Morocco. Definitely a bucket list of a place to visit.
