Dragon Dream 2 Days 1 Night Family Trip, Stay with Kids in the Animal World!

We took the kids to the long-awaited Dragon Dream over the weekend, and the 2-day 1-night itinerary was written overnight, personally tested with no disappointments! Transportation 🚗 We drove from Hangzhou, which took about an hour and a half to get there. Taking the high-speed train is also very convenient; from Huzhou Station, it’s just a half-hour taxi ride. Accommodation 🏠 Be sure to book in advance! We reserved a family room at the Dragon Dream Happy World Hotel, which is very close to the Animal World and the Grand Circus, just a short walk away! Itinerary 📝 Day 1 Arrived at the hotel at 2 PM and checked in first. The hotel lobby has huge animal models! After dropping off our luggage, we headed straight to the kids’ much-anticipated Animal World. Right at the entrance is the Pigeon Square, where the kids chased pigeons happily. There’s also a giant animal inflatable dome, perfect for taking great photos! We arrived a bit late in the afternoon, so we quickly toured Animal World and then headed to Taihu Performing Arts City. Once inside, be sure to book theater shows in advance, or you might miss out. Shows like "Today You Have a Play" allow audience interaction on stage, full of laughs! We also watched the "Youth Version of Dream of the Red Chamber Characters." We thought the kids wouldn’t be interested, but they were completely absorbed. It turns out Chinese people naturally carry traditional culture in their bones—an unexpectedly enriching experience introducing kids to traditional performing arts! The Iron Flower and Fireworks Show are a must-see! It was truly beautiful, along with the stunning Taihu scenery and acrobatics—very exciting! At 9 PM, all NPCs parade, making up for what was missed during the day. Day 2 After breakfast at the hotel, we headed back to Animal World. First, we rushed to the small train ride, which costs 20 RMB per person; children under 1.2 meters ride free but without a seat. The ride lasts about half an hour, passing many large animals. Many visitors choose to drive themselves, which allows stopping at feeding points to get close to the animals. After the train ride, we explored the walking area, where you can see long-necked giraffes with super long eyelashes, friendly zebras, relaxed-looking capybaras, contrasting brown bears, and gentle elephants. You can buy food on-site to feed them. There’s also a squirrel monkey tribe where you can observe the monkeys up close. The super cute red pandas, a national second-level protected species, might sneak right up to your feet. The interaction is so engaging that the kids had a blast all day! By the way, the Autumn Adventure Season is only in November. You can play pig racing, goose and sheep ring toss, and balloon pig fan games, but there are height restrictions—for example, pig racing requires kids to be over 1.1 meters tall. Still, that didn’t stop the kids from excitedly cheering others on 👏. The best part is that tickets allow unlimited entry for three days, making it extremely cost-effective! Tips: There are four themed restaurants inside, so no worries about meals. Shared strollers are available for rent. Try to arrive early, as some animals won’t eat once they’re full.
