Itinerary Day 1: Encounter the Beauty of Yushan Mountain We set off from Shanghai around 9 a.m., driving through the gradually unfolding scenery towards Changshu. Around noon, we arrived at a noodle restaurant near Yushan Mountain. We planned to have a quick bite before heading to the mountain, but the restaurant was so popular that we waited over 40 minutes for our food. The experience was just so-so, so I wouldn't recommend it. After lunch, we navigated to Qingya Tea Garden. We parked our car next to a local resident's house for only CNY 10 with no time limit—what a bargain! Then, we started our hike on the Yushan small loop trail. The entire route is about 7.5 km and takes about 4 hours with breaks. It's super beginner-friendly. The scenery along the way is picturesque, like a natural landscape painting unfolding before our eyes. Every step brought unexpected surprises, and our kid was so excited, chattering non-stop. In the evening, we found a farmhouse restaurant near Yushan Mountain. After the hike, our kid had a huge appetite and devoured the authentic farmhouse dishes. It was so delicious, and we were all super satisfied! Day 2: Immersed in the Spring Scenery of Shanghu Lake We woke up naturally and had a leisurely breakfast before heading to Shanghu Lake at 10 a.m. On the way, vast fields of rapeseed flowers caught our eye, resembling a golden ocean. Who could resist such beauty? We immediately stopped for photos. The golden sea of flowers was incredibly photogenic; every shot looked like a masterpiece. Upon arriving at Shanghu Lake, we rented a four-person electric car near the park entrance for CNY 150/hour and drove straight to the Peony Garden. Shanghu Lake is vast, and the weather was unbelievably beautiful. We spent an hour exploring by car and another hour strolling, immersing ourselves in the beauty of spring. The lake and mountain scenery complemented the vibrant peonies. Our kid had a blast feeding fish and admiring flowers by the lake. For lunch, we again chose a farmhouse restaurant. The water celery was fresh and tender, and we couldn't get enough of it even after two days. The authentic flavors were truly unforgettable! After lunch, we drove back to Shanghai at a leisurely pace, enjoying a smooth journey and a perfect end to our trip.
