An Exquisite Experience Above the Clouds: My Stay at the St. Regis Changsha Thoughtful Pre-Arrival Communication As a Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Elite member, I redeemed a complimentary night using a free night award from my 75-night choice benefit and requested a suite upgrade using a Suite Night Award. To my delight, four days before my check-in, my upgrade to a Caroline Suite was confirmed. Two days prior to arrival, I added the WeChat account for the St. Regis Changsha's renowned butler service. This account is jointly managed by the butler team and provides attentive 24-hour service. After adding the account, the butler quickly sent me information about the hotel and its surroundings, as well as a detailed introduction to the services available. I expressed my desire for a hotel mascot, "Mange" doll, and the butler initially stated that it would need to be purchased, but they could apply for a 50% discount. Unexpectedly, I was not charged after check-out. It turned out that it was given to me as a gift, which made us look forward to our stay even more. Impeccable Hardware 🧹 Soundproofing and Cleanliness The hotel opened in 2016, and both the public areas and guest rooms are extremely well-maintained. You can't tell how old it is. The cleanliness is impeccable, and the rooms are spotless, which made us feel very comfortable. The soundproofing is also excellent. Once the door is closed, the noise from the outside is completely isolated, creating a quiet space for us to rest. 🏘️ Room Type and Layout We stayed in the Caroline Suite, room 6117, which has an area of 90 square meters. The space is well-laid out, spacious, and comfortable. The suite's master bathroom is very large, with an elegant and practical design. The overall layout ensures both privacy and a sense of open space, with every detail highlighting luxury and quality. 🛌 Amenities and Facilities The in-room facilities are top-notch. The TV supports screen mirroring, allowing us to fully enjoy entertainment during our leisure time. The bathroom hardware is all Axor brand, showcasing high-end quality. A Dyson hair dryer and a Toto electric toilet are also standard. What surprised us even more were the amenities without obvious brand logos, such as the toothbrush and slippers, which were of higher quality than expected. My wife even took two combs with her, which shows how much she liked them. As a super high-rise hotel, the lobby is located on the 50th floor, and the guest rooms are above the 50th floor. Every room has an excellent view. The St. Regis' signature champagne sabering ritual is held in the lobby every night at 7pm, allowing us to sample fine wines and experience the hotel's unique atmosphere. The rooftop pool and gym on the 63rd floor not only allow us to enjoy the scenery while exercising, but are also great places to take photos. Attentive Service The St. Regis' signature butler service lives up to its reputation. The butlers are on call 24 hours a day, and their attitude is warm, professional, and responsive. In the middle of the night, we wanted a bubble bath and frozen lemon water, along with a spicy crayfish takeout (the butler helped deliver it to the room), and enjoyed an incredibly pleasant time. The next day, we also experienced the in-room afternoon tea, and every step was arranged just right, which maximized our experience. Breakfast Could Be Improved The hotel breakfast has a wide variety of options and the quality is very high, but there are a lot of people eating, which makes the seating a bit crowded. As a high-end hotel, there is no assigned seating. When we went to eat around 10:00, there were not many empty seats and the environment was a bit noisy, which affected the dining experience to some extent. 💗 Other Tips 1. Communicating your needs with the butler in advance can make your stay more personalized and allow you to enjoy more attentive service. 2. Be sure to experience the hotel's evening ritual and rooftop pool to feel the unique charm of the St. Regis Changsha. 3. The hotel is conveniently located near transportation. You can take a taxi to popular attractions such as May First Square and Orange Isle, which are about a 20-minute drive away. The MixC shopping mall nearby also has a wide variety of dining and shopping options.
