Chang Bai Shan 2024

Embarking on a trip to Chang Bai Shan in late December 2024 was like stepping into a snow-laden dreamscape. The mountain's pristine beauty, combined with its serene ambiance, offered an unforgettable winter retreat. The weather was quintessentially wintery, with daytime temperatures hovering around -10°C and nights plunging to -20°C. It is a very good experience. Heaven Lake (Tianchi): Visiting this volcanic crater lake was a surreal experience. The lake's icy expanse, surrounded by snow-covered peaks, was a sight to behold. While the weather can be unpredictable, I was fortunate to witness the lake in all its frozen glory. Ice Sculpture: Seasonal ice sculpture park is available during my visit. Towering sculptures carved from crystal-clear ice depicted mythical creatures, traditional Chinese symbols, and even modern pop culture. At night, they were lit with colorful LEDs, giving the entire area a magical, almost surreal glow. It felt like a smaller, more intimate version of Harbin’s Ice Festival and added a festive charm to the cold evenings.
