First, buy a ticket to visit Phanom Rung Stone Castle + Muang Tam Castle, they are not far from each other. The price for both is 30 baht, not expensive. It is worth it to visit the view. When you enter, give the ticket to the officer. Walk a bit further and you will see the stairs. When you walk up, you will start to see the castle. The view in front of you is very good. It gives a feeling of going back to the Khmer period. I thought I was Kham Kaew in the Naga or something. Haha, just kidding, but it is really good. A large castle on an extinct volcano. I recommend you to come at least once.
