Phanom Rung Stone Castle - Buriram

Phanom Rung Stone Castle, an ancient site located on Phanom Rung Mountain, Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Buriram Province, is an ancient Khmer art style. His Royal Highness Prince Damrong Rajanubhab visited Phanom Rung Castle in 1906 and 1929. After that, the Fine Arts Department announced the registration of Phanom Rung Castle as a national ancient site in the Royal Gazette, Volume 52, Part 75, on March 8, 1935. Building a castle on the top of the mountain is like replicating the residence of Shiva on earth. It is a Brahmin temple, Hinduism, Shiva, the supreme god. It is believed that it was built in the 15th-17th Buddhist century. Admission fee: Adults 20 baht (Thai people), foreigners 100 baht. There is parking. Open daily: 07:00-18:00 hrs.
