| Cambridge: Stroll along the River Cam. 🔅 Cambridge 🕍 is known as one of the most beautiful college buildings in the world. When Xu Zhimo was studying at Cambridge, he wrote, "In the gentle waves of the River Cam, I am willing to be a water plant." What kind of beauty could inspire such a romantic poet? I think only by experiencing it yourself can you find the answer. ⭕ I have to say that the colleges in Cambridge are both exquisite and fascinating. However, there are so many colleges in Cambridge that you may get tired of visiting them all. 🤷 Even if you rush through them in one day, you won't be able to see them all. Moreover, each college charges separately. To save your precious money, here are two of my favorites: 📍 King's College ✨ The most famous is the chapel, with its magnificent and ornate vaulted ceiling and colorful stained glass windows. The Xu Zhimo (Softly I Leave) Monument is located in the garden. 📍 St John's College ✨ The Bridge of Sighs is here, and there is a building at the back of the college with ivy covering the entire wall. The colors change with the seasons, and it is stunning. ⚠️ Newton's apple tree is at the entrance of Trinity College, and Corpus Clock is not far away, so you can visit both. 📍 Great St Mary's Church ✨ A traditional Gothic church with a grand interior. You can choose to climb the tower (£7) and enjoy a stunning view of the entire city center of Cambridge. 📍 Fitzwilliam Museum ✨ Free admission. A magnificent neoclassical building with a wide range of exhibits, from paintings to porcelain to mummies. It is a classic museum of antiquities, and if you are interested, you may want to include it in your itinerary. 📍 Punting ✨ This is a must-try experience. The whole trip takes about 40 minutes and passes by all the highlights, including St John's College, Trinity College, King's College, and Queen's College. You can usually buy tickets and board the boat at Mill Lane or Quayside. Some boatmen on the roadside are open to bargaining. 📍 Cambridge Market ✨ A variety of stalls selling handicrafts, souvenirs, fruits, vegetables, and exotic food. The stalls are always changing, so take a break and go treasure hunting. (Note: Opening hours are 10:00–16:00.) 💟 Food Recommendations: 📍 Fitzbillies: A century-old Cambridge store. Recommended: Chelsea buns, a soft cinnamon and syrup bun, and scones, which are huge and come with lots of cream and jam. 📍 Sausage Company: A roadside stall run by an old man for many years. The taste is not amazing, but the portions are generous. You can ask for onions. A large hot dog costs £4.2 and is very filling. 📍 Jack's Gelato: A popular ice cream shop with flavors that change from time to time. I tried two flavors, and both were great. The texture is solid and dense, sweet but not greasy. 🖕 The main attractions in Cambridge are close to each other, so you can switch between them and find food without delay. 🤠
