It quietly guards the border, living its own life. Neatly stacked bundles of winter fodder in the herders' yards, dogs wagging their tails at their young masters, and then barking a few times upon seeing a stranger like you... In that moment, you'll understand that the purest moments of life in the most extreme autumn beauty are the 'poetry and distance' we trek through mountains and rivers to experience! Hint: A border pass is required to travel from Kanas to Baihaba (available near the Kanas Tourist Center). As it is a border area, drones are not allowed to fly. The scenic area bus from Kanas to Baihaba takes about an hour, please sit by the window and keep your eyes open, as the scenery along the way is very beautiful. 🚗Jiadengyu-Hemu Trek: Although Hemu has become commercialized, this route is still worth taking! The route is nearly 30 kilometers long, but the road conditions are mature and there is not much climbing. If you like to avoid the crowds and seek out less-known landscapes, you will definitely like this route. The beauty and feelings experienced along the way are irreplaceable! Hint: Some people will walk it in two stages, with a halfway inn available for an overnight rest, while others will return halfway back the way they came. I stored my main luggage in Jiadengyu, only carrying the essentials to Hemu, and then took the scenic area bus back to Jiadengyu the next day.
