1. Brussels: A Charming and Sweet Cartoon Kingdom. Belgium, a European country often overlooked by Chinese travelers, is located at the junction of the Netherlands, France, and Germany. French is spoken in the south, while Dutch is common in the north. This trip unexpectedly revealed this classically elegant yet lively and lovely European treasure. 2. My journey began in the Netherlands, traveling south by train. As soon as I crossed the border, I noticed a distinct old industrial style, quite different from the well-organized Netherlands. What caught my eye was the dense artistic graffiti covering train carriages, bodies, and even railway exterior walls. It was surprising to see this hippie style in what I perceived as an old-fashioned Western European country. It's said that local graffiti artists often sneak out in the middle of the night to find walls to paint in various corners of the city. Although the government disapproves of their unregulated creations during the day, they are generally tolerant of these night owls. Over time, they have even tacitly allowed this street art to become part of the city. I was surprised to find that this tolerance for modern art is no accident. 3. When it comes to Brussels, most people know about the cute Manneken Pis statue. However, what's less known is that Brussels' charm goes far beyond this. This is the birthplace of European comics. The Smurfs, The Adventures of Tintin, 4. and other popular European comics like Asterix and Lucky Luke were all created in this comic capital of Belgium. Walking through the streets of Brussels, my heart was filled with joyful anticipation. Around every corner and on walls throughout the city, I encountered amusing cartoon figures, comical and full of childlike wonder. 5. This sweet innocence is also reflected in the food. Brussels' most famous food is waffles covered in chocolate sauce and whipped cream. The waffles here are thick and sweet, guaranteed to give you a sugar rush. Freshly baked waffles are sticky and soft, with a warm, crispy, golden crust. Although my mind screamed about the high calories, my mouth couldn't resist. For me, one giant waffle was enough to satisfy me for the entire trip because it was so rich and sweet. 6. Despite being constantly bombarded by the city's cuteness, the Royal Palace of Brussels and the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula still impressed me with their classical splendor. One obvious observation is that Brussels' architecture is richly decorated, possibly influenced by the French Baroque style. It's opulent and intricate, with many gilded angels and religious figures embedded in the exterior walls, exquisite and characteristic.
