Altay/Sailimu Lake Trip Completed

Goodbye, Sailimu Lake; goodbye, my Altay. At the end of every trip, emotions always fluctuate intensely. A 3,000-kilometer journey, from the Gobi Desert to the snowy mountains, from forests to lakes, the visual input was overwhelming, seeing many sights I had never seen before in my life. Through this trip, I also realized how strong human adaptability is—no matter how beautiful the scenery, it gradually feels "ordinary," just like sometimes when you think things are hopeless, you might slowly come to feel "it's not that bad." Perhaps this is part of the meaning of travel? Like reading a book, it's hard to say exactly "what use it has"; like this trip, it's difficult to summarize its value in a few words, but I believe it will influence my whole life. These days felt like "starting a new game level": different lifestyle, different experiences and challenges. After finishing the level, it's time to return to the main storyline of life. Xinjiang is vast, time is short, though it was a whirlwind tour, the gains were plentiful. Finally, I want to share some "tips" for friends who want to visit Xinjiang: For friends from the south who want to experience the "northern scenery," I highly recommend Hemu. It has well-developed facilities, many options for food, accommodation, and transportation—active travelers can join the crowds to watch sunrises and sunsets or enjoy bonfire parties, while those seeking quiet can find a remote coffee shop, warm up by the heater, and watch the snowy landscape. There are no "dry toilets" here, and you won’t freeze to death; as long as you don’t expose your skin to the cold air, you won’t feel cold. If you don’t go to uninhabited areas, there is basically no safety risk. However, winter self-driving in Altay is still risky and requires outdoor experience; snow-covered cliffside mountain roads especially need an experienced driver.
