Nujiang, the place with the most ethnic diversity

Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture is an autonomous prefecture under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Province, located in the northwest of Yunnan Province. It borders Chayu County in Linzhi City, Tibet Autonomous Region to the north, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture to the northeast, Lijiang City to the east, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture to the southeast, and Baoshan City to the south. The total area is 14,703 square kilometers. Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture is named after the Nu River, which runs from north to south throughout the territory. It is the only Lisu autonomous prefecture in China, and the Dulong and Nu ethnic groups are unique to the Nujiang area. Nujiang Prefecture has the most diverse ethnic composition and the highest number of less populous ethnic groups in China. Nujiang Prefecture is home to the 'Three Parallel Rivers' World Natural Heritage site and the Gaoligong Mountain National Nature Reserve, earning reputations as a 'natural landform museum, a gene bank of biological species, a virgin land of human civilization, and a grand garden of ethnic cultures.' Representative attractions in the area include the Dulong River, Bingzhongluo, Stone Moon, and Laowo Mountain.
