【Queenstown】Breathtaking Views! Ben Lomond Hiking & Skyline Gondola Experience.

I took on the popular Ben Lomond hike in Queenstown. I started my hike from Bob’s Peak after taking the Skyline Gondola, and I’ll review the experience, including how the use of the gondola significantly affects the time required. ◎ Time Required for the Hike ・Using the Gondola (Bob’s Peak → Ben Lomond) Round trip to the Saddle: Approximately 3–4 hours Round trip to the Summit: Approximately 5–7 hours ・Without Using the Gondola, Starting from the Base (Requires hiking up to Bob’s Peak via the Tiki Trail) To Bob’s Peak: Approximately 1.5–2 hours Round trip to the Saddle: Total approximately 5–6 hours Round trip to the Summit: Total approximately 6–8 hours Using the gondola makes the hike significantly easier both physically and time-wise, so it’s highly recommended for first-timers or those with limited time. ◎ Gondola Fee Adults: Approximately NZD 46 (round trip) *Prices may vary slightly depending on the season. The view from the gondola is also stunning, offering a panoramic view of the lake and mountains that will surely lift your spirits. ◎ Hiking Impressions The trail starts in the forest, and as you gain elevation, the view opens up dramatically, revealing breathtaking vistas of the mountains and Lake Wakatipu. The section beyond the Saddle is a bit steep and quite challenging—I considered turning back several times. However, the 360-degree panoramic view at the summit was truly moving and made it all worthwhile.
