Famous historic church architectural attractions in Belgrade, Serbia: St. Sava Church, suitable for checking in and taking photos📸

#MarchGoodPlaces2025 Belgrade, Serbia is a world-famous tourist resort city. Every day, thousands of tourists come here for sightseeing and vacation. There are many ancient church architectural attractions in Belgrade. This time I will introduce a very famous church architectural attraction in the local area: the Church of St. Sava. Free to visit and take photos📸, no tickets required. The Church of Saint Sava (Храм светог Саве/Hram svetog Save) is the second largest Orthodox church in the world and one of the top ten churches in the world. At the entrance to the church park, a huge bronze statue stands. He raises his hands to the side, holding a Bible in one hand and a cross in the other. This is the statue of Saint Sava Nemanja, and the church is named after him. Saint Sava plays a vital role in the historical and cultural development of Serbia. This is the Church of Saint Sava in Belgrade, Serbia, a combination of modern and Serbian Byzantine styles, which has now become a symbol of Serbian faith and national pride. The mosaics for the Church of Saint Sava were not completed until 2020. The mosaics now cover 130,000 square feet and weigh a total of approximately 320 tons. There are more than 50 million individual mosaic pieces on the interior walls, a work completed by 300 artists over a period of four years. Standing in front of the cathedral, its huge volume brings a strong visual impact. The entire church is built with pure white marble. The white color is like the wings of an angel, pure and sacred. Although its scale is not as large as the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, the huge bronze dome covering the main roof and the magnificent decoration make people feel as if they are in a sacred palace of art.
